Author Visit Experience

Katharine Mitropoulos is an award-winning children’s author and the founder of Set Sail Press. Through more than 50 school visits and presentations to over 5,000 students, she has shared her passion for storytelling, creativity, and the book creation process with elementary schools across Michigan. Set Sail Press author visits are designed to be fun, interactive, and age-appropriate for students in grades K-3.

Typical Visit Includes:

• An engaging presentation that walks students through the book creation process, from the first story idea to publication. Students also learn about the many professionals involved in bringing a book to life.

• Students are encouraged to participate throughout the presentation by answering questions, sharing ideas, and engaging in discussion with the author.

• Read-aloud of the featured story with opportunities for audience participation

• Book-themed activity packet featuring custom coloring pages, mazes, spot-the-difference games, and more

• Distribution of pre-purchased books for students

With more than 50 school visits completed, each presentation is designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading in a way that is both educational and memorable.
